Q) For members who don’t know you, tell us a bit about yourself?
A) I am in my late 30s working in the NHS as a HR Manager. I am Portsmouth FC fan and enjoy road cycling and playing football on a weekly basis with colleagues from work. I have been a member of Sandhurst Joggers for approx 4 years.
Q) How and when did you get into running?
A) I used to be a bit of a couch potato and a smoker! I gave up smoking in 2008 and ballooned to 17stone. I started running around where I lived and set myself a goal of completing a lap of Virginia Water Lake. I completed this and it took me an hour! I then entered my first 10k and the rest is history.
Q) What do you enjoy most about being a member of Sandhurst Joggers?
A) I enjoy the friendliness, banter and the opportunity to enter club events, like the relays and XC. I have also met some really nice people.
Q) On which of the weekly runs are we most likely to bump into you?
A) You will tend to see me at the Thursday Threshold run football dependent.
Q) I see you’ve run at a lot Parkrun venues including overseas, of the ones you’ve run at which is your favourite and why?
A) My favourite Parkrun has to be Bedfont Lakes, as this was my first and is super friendly and a really nice course, its also a short drive to my relatives and Costa coffee!!!
Q) What other events are on your programme for 2017?
A) I am running Reigate Half Marathon on Sunday, followed by Yorkshire 10, Fleet 10K and Portsmouth Coastal Marathon
