Q) For members who don’t know you, tell us a bit about yourself?
A) I live in College Town and work in the IT industry  I am a keen cyclist and have ridden long distance Audax cycling events for many years.
Q) How and when did you get into running?
A) In 1984 I, along with several other school friends, decided to run a 5k as an excuse to meetup having all recently graduated from University. Having had a real buzz when I finished the run I decided to run a half and full marathon to see if I enjoyed running or not. Being a skinflint I ran all those events in my school plimsolls before deciding I really ought to buy some proper trainers. I ran one marathon a year for a while with occasional halfs and the Yateleys. I ran London once every 10 years and while training for one of them I decided I really ought to join a club. Only after joining Sandhurst have I started to run more events.
Q) What do you enjoy most about being a member of Sandhurst Joggers?
A) I joined Sandhurst Joggers because I got bored of running on my own and that is still the thing I enjoy most about being a member.  Running with people, enjoying the company and seeing people progress in their running is what keeps me coming back.  Whatever the distance, a run is only about what you want from it and I enjoy seeing people start off on short non-competitive runs and gradually develop their ability to run further and their belief in what they can achieve.
Q) On which of the weekly runs are we most likely to bump into you?
A) I lead the Monday Club run so am mostly there.  I also go to track on Fridays to try and work on my speed and pacing.

Q) I see you’ve run most of your Parkruns at Bracknell, of the eleven other venues you’ve run at which is your favourite and why?
A) Probably Wilmslow as it is close to my Mother-in-Laws so I run it fairly regularly.
Q) What other events are on your programme for 2018?
A) The main running events for this year are the Berlin and Chicago Marathons to complete my set of the Marathon Majors and a four day run along the Cotswold Way.
