This was a race full of firsts for me:
- First Five Mile Road Race
- Ortho’s Crazy Dashers inaugural run
- First run with no other Sandhurst Joggers
- First post race breakfast
So last Sunday I turned back up at work to meet Dionne, Tasos, Jo and Hayley before we went into Marlow town centre to park and make our way to the start line along the banks of the River Thames.
There were pacers out ready for those hunting PB’s and plenty of club runners along with others teams just out to enjoy the event. We headed off around the town centre and the sun was out and so were lots of residents to cheer us on. Soon we had run back to the office yet again, cheered on by a fellow Ortho, and a slight incline that seemed to go on forever before we then made our way into town and across the finish line.
We all got a great goody bag with t-shirt, drink and snacks and there was just enough time for a few group photos before we went to our pre-booked breakfast at Cote.
A great event – the furthest I’ve traveled to run 5 miles but it was definitely worth it for the breakfast and to run as part of Ortho Crazy Dashers.
