On Saturday, our club chairman Richard Boese sent a reminder email out about the forthcoming club AGM in March and stated some of the roles that will be available on the committee with people standing down.
Please do have a good read of this as it is fundamental to this brilliant running club running smoothly.
The weeks highlight was the Handicap Run on Wednesday where Nicola Coe was this months most improved runner.

A much more pleasant weekend was in store for us for the first time in ages!
Onto the weekend running and starting with
Storm Dennis took its toll on local parkruns this week with Bracknell & California Country called off – despite this 65 members had their barcodes scanned this weekend.
There were also some well deserved awards to some great people who have helped make Frimley Lodge parkrun the great event it is, if you run @ Frimley you will know why.
Thanks Karen, Mark and Brian and nice one Paula to present these “Honours the Decade” awards on the day of your 500th parkrun! It was this parkrun that got me my red “50” and purple “25” parkrun shirts and these guys that made me want to be there 🙂
16 members turned up to celebrate the events 10th birthday. On a retro course that they stopped using when it got busier it was a slow slippery occasion but there was plenty of great cake 🙂
In 5th place overall, Jon Payne led our members home in 19:08 closely followed by Neil Praine whose time of 19:30 saw him finish 8th in the field of 565 runners.
Beki Christian was our 1st lady finisher with a time of 26:33.
The conditions and course meant there were no PBs but there were some milestone runs.
Simon Tigg ran his 100th parkrun having also run in the 1st ever Frimley Lodge parkrun! Simon’s lad James also celebrated his 10th parkrun. Congratulations to both of you!
23 SJs were at the Memorial Park and for the 3rd week running the guys and gals were led home by Craig Bowles and Sarah Hyatt.
Sarah’s time of 24:31 was her 7th consecutive PB here. An incredible streak!
There were plenty of PB’s too for:
In the 10th event, Fiona Marshall toed the line for a 10th time to maintain that 100% streak! Well done Fiona!
As per usual a number of our members took part in their local parkruns or were out touring, details below:
Hanworth – Finishing in 24:57, Stuart Overhill completed his 50th different parkrun venue just a few runs short of his 250th parkrun.
Tilgate – In her 1st run here, Jane Ralls completed this lovely course in 45:03.
At other local parkruns:
Rushmoor – Only 3 members here today with the 1st SJ to finish being Lyn Davies in 24:19 and Jonathan Taylor our sole male member sandwiching the parkrun into a lovely 15 mile run. In a time of 29:48 Beccie Wedderburn completed the trio.
Bushy Park – Chris Cole and Jo Fraser completed parkrun’s spritual home in 26:31 & 29:22 respectively.
Basingstoke – John Featherstone finished in 28:36
Woodley – Made busier with local cancellations, George Green got around in 25:22.
Swansea Bay – Helen Davy was back down here in a windy South Wales completing her run in 26:09.

With no events on this week, this is mainly Spring Marathon training runs building up with Nick Metcalfe topping the leaderboard.
Good luck training for Brighton, Rotterdam, London and wherever else you are aiming to run at!
Club Events for the week ahead…
Patrick Wadsworth will be taking the Monday Club run from Sandhurst Sports Centre leaving at 7:30 for 6 miles in an hour (distances and duration are Monday miles and minutes and bear passing resemblance to those in use at other times). Hiviz and torches welcome!
Tuesday Club Run: The biggest club run of the week sets off from Sandhurst Memorial Park next Tuesday. Please arrive for 6:25 to be there for club announcements etc. There are different paced groups, from run-walk to 9 minute-mile, and everyone starts and finishes at the same point, in an hour, so there really is something for everybody!
Speed Work Tuesday:
Wednesday: The Wednesday run sets off from the Memorial Park at 7:00. Andrea Vincent, Sharon Burfield and Alison Jones will lead runners of all abilities on this flexible run!
Thursday: A run with Erol will contain hills, laughs, and a couple of wrong turns (normally), but you can guarantee you’ll end up at the car park eventually, and with a smile at the end of it all! Meet at Sandhurst Sports Centre at 7:30pm and lights and high vis clothing will be required. The run is a great way to improve fitness by running as a group at a slightly harder intensity.
Erol will post the route details to the club facebook page later this week.
Saturday: Lots of members will be enjoying their weekly Parkrun fix at 9am on Saturday morning, if you’re thinking of going somewhere new then post on the Facebook page as there may be other members planning on running at the same place as you! Wherever you are parkrunning – Don’t forget your barcode!
Sunday: Come along and give the The Sunday Lookout run a try with Dick Newman and Emy Circuit. They say its the best run of the week but might be a bit biased! It’s a flexible run leaving from The Lookout at 9 am with different groups to suit a wide range of abilities. The three ‘Cs’ of Coffee, cake and chat are enjoyed in the cafe post-run.
It’s been such a difficult weekend however this club and it’s members have proved to be bloody awesome and we are all hoping you are found safe and well Lisa.
